Dedicated to Divorce & Family Law

Jose Fernando Canosa, Esq. is an experienced native Spanish-speaking NY litigation attorney with a demonstrated history of working in the legal services industry. He is a strong, ethical yet zealous legal professional skilled in Family Law, Domestic Relations Law, NY Vehicle and Traffic Law, Civil Litigation, Trials and Appeals.

Jose is a fierce litigator, true, tested, and tried in the trenches of Family Court, Supreme Court, Administrative Law Courts, Social Services Agencies as well as before the Appellate Division- 2nd Department.

He is a zealous advocate as well as a compassionate and faithful counsellor capable of meeting clients exactly where they are in life at the given time.

Prior to transitioning into private practice as Managing Attorney for Marble Law PC, Jose devoted 9 years of his legal practice to the public sector, as a Legal Aid attorney, representing indigent clients assigned by the Suffolk County Family Court in paternity, child support, custody and visitation, family offenses, child neglect, child abuse, termination of parental rights, and (occasionally) Special immigrant juvenile findings cases.

Jose sits on the executive board of two NY nonprofit organizations, one of which is the Evergreen Charter School. He was appointed as member of the board of trustees of Evergreen in September of 2012. In 2014, he was nominated as board treasurer and charged with monitoring and reviewing the school's operating, escrow, savings, checking accounts and payroll register and coordinating efforts with the CFO to promote the school's overall financial soundness.

While Evergreen has students from all over Long Island, NY, it serves mainly the Hempstead Community which is largely a failing school district that has been impacted by poverty, racial inequality, and administrative corruption throughout the years. In stark contrast, Evergreen outperforms the district by alarming numbers and is ranked among the top charter schools in the state.

Jose has been on the instructors panel for several continuing legal education family law seminars through the Suffolk County Bar Association- Academy of law.

Jose is a devoted and proud father of 2 young boys, 6 and 9 years of age, enjoys the outdoors, beaches, the ocean, and fitness. Jose also holds certifications in personal training and nutrition
